The tricky part is when you feed the new hose through the faucet cylinder. The cylinder is divided in two: one side for the hot and cold water feeds, the other for the hose that attaches to spray nozzle. You will need to unscrew the faucet cylinder from the basin in order to get the right angle to pass the hose attachment through the cylinder.
Once the hose is passed through just snap the bottom part of the hose into the source and screw the spray nozzle to the top end of the hose. Remember to use the silicone provided in the replacement package on the rubber washers. It preserves the washers and ensures a water tight seal.
The hose was leaking at the ball joint near the attachment to the shower end of the faucet. The leak was sufficient to spray some water thru the faucet neck down under the sink.

As suggested online, I attached a string to the end of the hose under the sink and pulled the old hose out thru the top.
It got stuck but after a few tense moments and thoughts of alternative approaches, some twisting and nudging of the hose loosened it and I was able to pull it completely out. After unscrewing the shower end from the old hose with an adjustable wrench and attaching it to the new hose to which the string was attached, I pulled the new hose thru from underneath with the string.
It once again got stuck but I was able to quickly get it unstuck again and all the way thru. I then reconnected the water input and turned on the water.
Success. It fundamentally should be an easy repair but the passing of the hose thru the faucet was a little more tricky than described.
Moen pull out kitchen sink faucet hose was leaking.
