Questions & Answers

I got a head valve for this nailer from eReplacementParts and having problems getting it together, a diagrammed insulation would help.

Nailer wouldn't drive a nail, when trigger was pressed just heard leaking air at trigger
Before I attempted to look for parts I completely disassembled the air tool (Craftsman Brad Nail Gun) to look for a failed part or seal. It helps to have the available parts sheet that illustrates the assembly, I would highly recommend that you have that before disassembly/assembly. Also make sure you clean the inside of the tool after its disassembled. Compressed air has moisture and over the years with use grime builds up inside the tool so make sure to take the time to clean it. The only questionable part I saw that could cause the air leak was the head valve. Its made of plastic and one edge was brittle and I saw a lot of cracks. My intention was to only replace all the seals, but once I went on-line to look for the seal kits I discovered they weren't available anymore. The repair tips on the website gave me the confidence that what I was ordering was going to fix my problem. I reassembled the nail gun with the new head valve and I was pleasantly surprised when the gun operated like it should. eReplacementParts saved me from tossing my tool in the scrap bin.

My stapler was leaking air from a port near the air chuck nozzle. Replaced this part, which had crumbled into the piston cylinder and my stapler worked as good as new.

Head valve for Craftsman pneumatic brad nailer
Because of Covid 19 it took 9 weeks to get my part. However it was an original equipment part and works perfectly. I would add that no one else had/has the part. Maybe I should have bought two. Also note I needed two stop buttons which even you dont have. I went to a small family hardware store and bought 0.042x7/16 hutch pins which worked nicely.
