This governor spring is an OEM part direct from Briggs & Stratton. Compatible with many small, lawn and garden engines, the metal spring creates the necessary tension for the throttle. This in turn, manages the speed of the engine. A pair of pliers and a screwdriver are needed for the installation. The governor spring is sold individually.

2 Removed Primer bulb holder plate Just Three (3) bolts
3 Used Flat Head Screw driver to pry primer bulb holder from plate. Much easier to do it with the plate off.

5Scraped off old Air Filter gasket and replaced it with a new one.I actually used two gaskets just in case the primer bulb plate was bent or warped...Better seal that way.

It was somewhat aggravating for me. I'm an older woman with no experience mechanically.
My son came over and we figured it out together.
The lawnmower is working fine now.
I do wish that there would be a small diagram (with the parts) showing how the parts connect to the other parts
It would have been so much easier.
