The most common reasons for replacing the worm bevel gear is if the teeth are worn out or damaged, or you hear the motor come on but nothing is moving. This part is sold individually. Followed instructions I found on YouTube and on this website.
The repair was simple, cleaning the old grease from inside the unit took the most amount of time. Once I was satisfied all of the old lube was removed, I re-assembled the parts, checked for good alignment and smooth motion, re-lubed the entire mechanism, and closed it back up.
I do not own a pair of snap ring pliers so I struggled with the C-clip but managed OK with two sets of regular pliers and an extra pair of hands.
Actual time for the parts replacement was only about 15 minutes, but the total time was closer to an hour because of the soiled lube, there were metal chunks in it from where the gear tooth had broken off and also ground metal that I wanted to remove - lube should not be gritty so I opted to remove all traces from all parts.

I found the eReplacementParts YouTube video describing the repair to the KitchenAid Pro600 mixer which is our machine. I was able to use the video to familiarize myself with the equipment before attempting disassembly. This made identification of parts much easier and obtaining the replacement parts from your company was quite straight forward. Your rep was helpful and the parts were shipped out expeditiously, arriving in two days across country. One anomaly that I encountered, after completing the repair, I ran the mixer for a few minutes to get the grease throughout the gear assembly. I noticed a slight variation in speed while the machine was running. I don't know whether that is an indication of a problem or not.
Overall, I couldn't be more pleased with the tutorial, parts availability and support.

Your parts diagram/schematic was an essential help in making the repair. I removed the cover of the mixer and looked at the hub gears and noticed several teeth were stripped. I ordered the parts from you and they arrived in less than a week. I removed the stripped parts and removed as much grease as I could. I used a gear puller to raise the bevel gear, but might have been able to do that w/ a screwdriver and the mallet. I happened to have an old pair of snap ring pliers, which were necessary to remove the bevel gear. I replaced the gears and cleaned teeth chips from the grease; replaced the grease and the mixer worked. I should have removed all the grease, cleaned the hub with solvent, and filled the hub w/ clean new grease.
