Checked eReplacement parts for tips on what could be the problem. First was a bad drain valve. I knew that was okay. Second was the tube seal inside the motor. Great. It was only around $12 or $13, and I need the compressor, so I sent for the part. Taking these red pancake compressors apart is complicated and time consuming. Also you need a very long Torx bit or an extension for your drill that fits inside a small tube where the screws holding the black plastic motor housing together. Just took my time and finally got it separated. It's fairly simple here, but the gasket will shred when you separate the head from the motor. You need to order a gasket along with the tube seal. Also the two facing parts will need to be cleaned and polished enough to make a nice smooth seal when you put it back together. Changing the tube seal is easy if you're careful. Watch how it all fits together when you take the tubing out of the motor and housing so you can reassemble it correctly. If you take your time and are patient with each section, you should be able to put it back together and it should work just fine (assuming that was your problem in the first place!) Very happy with eReplacement parts. They have saved many appliances and tools by showing me how to fix them and having the right parts. Bravo!

Had to remove the cover. take the gauge off, then you are able to remove the valve. Reverse the process to put it back together. Dont forget teflon tape or seal the threads.

First disassembled the unit, knocked off the rust and repainted the silver exterior. Installed back with all new hardware, all the parts I purchased from you and reinstalled all the exterior plastic. Sucker runs like brand new !! This air compressor has been the most USED/ABUSED tool in my garage since I bought it. Was borrowed WITH and WITHOUT permission, but always got back to me in one piece. New hoses and fittings....Paint and clear coat. Let the old hardware SOAK in PBR and WD40. Used rust removal gel on the outside, POR 15 silver painted back on.
