Product Description ?

This pressure switch is specially designed for use with Campbell Hausfeld air compressors. It is supplied directly from original equipment manufacturer. Pressure switch plays an important role in a compressor because it will let it know when to stop and when to start building pressure up. It is sold individually.

Replacing this pressure switch you should need a wrench set, nut driver set and a thread-sealing tape.

• First make sure to unplug the unit and drain the air from the tank
• Then you can remove the pressure gauge
• Remove the switch tube
• Remove the pressure regulator assembly
• Disconnect the wires
• Remove the safety valve
• Remove old pressure switch
• Install the new pressure switch
• Reassemble and test the air compressor

    Easy install. Shuts off automatically
The right part for my compressor. Now it automatically shuts off when it reaches its capacity.

    Install instructions incomplete
Removal of old one followed the instructions given on RP webpage, but install instructions were largely absent. New one was different from old regarding the plastic tube, which must be cut off and the new fitting pressed onto it. No clue in the missing installation instructions. I finally figured it out but many people wouldnt. Compressor working again now.

    wrong part
This is more a review of the person at Campbell Hausfeld, who, even after being provided the model and serial number of the compressor, gave me the WRONG part number to order. I called back, explained what happened (compressor wouldn't shut off and kept blowing out the safety valve), and this person (different), with THE SAME INFORMATION, ordered the correct part for me. Which is not the switch above. Ask for Marcia at C-H. She knows her stuff!

Make sure the reason for the problem is the pressure switch. If so, get the right pressure switch for the repair and not a universal pressure switch. It helped me to cut off a small amount of the air hose to provide a good surface for the quick connect fitting to bit into. Make sure you look at the load/line demarcations for the wiring. They were different from the switch I replaced. If you get them backwards they will blow the breaker. The load/line are embossed on the housing of the wiring block. Put on your glasses. Once installed the pressure switch worked as I expected and saved buying an new compressor. I will be using e-replacement parts again.

I bought this compressor at an auction sale. They said it worked ok. When I got it home and plugged it in, air was leaking from the threads underneath the pressure switch. I took it apart and tried to fix it but it didn't work. Ordered the new one and got it within the week. It didn't come with instructions so I installed it the same way that the old one was hooked up to the electric connections. Blew a breaker when I plugged it in. Frustrating but double checked the connections with a picture of the original. Same thing, blew a breaker again. Finally realized the lines for power and the motor lines hooked up horizontal instead of vertically like the old switch. Working fine now.

Exactly as the factory part it replaced. You do have to take the old fittings off and place on the new switch but that was super easy. Really an easy fix and works like a charm.

I could have completed this repair in less than 30 minutes, but I did not like the stock. air compressor setup configuration. I previously had added an air water separator along with some other connections a few years back and this was the time to finaally get everything configured the way that I had wanted it. So I ended up making a run to the local hardware store for different pipe lengths to get everything positioned exactly where I wanted it. The pressure switch part was the easiest piece, just some simple wiring and connections. The pressure control switch was easy to install and fixed the air compressor just like I knew it would! Thank You for getting it to me quickly!
