  • Nothing to tricky with the replacement, just pay attention to how it came apart as that is how it will go back together.
    Part was fine with the exception of some superficial scratches. Be advised that you will need to cut the opening for the ignition switch if you have the model where the entire block assembly comes out (Troybuilt). Did it carefully with a box cutter and everything worked fine. All of the other items mounted as they would on the original.

    My mother placed the bagger baskets on the cover and then proceeded to sit on the seat pressing them into the top of the engine. Almost started a fire.

    Screwdriver, Socket set, Nutdriver, Box Cutter

    1. Remove the rear section of the cover, two screws.
    2. Disconnect the electrical to the ignition and the reverse mow switches.
    3. Pull the pins for the 4 mount collars.
    4. Disconnect the throttle body, 2 screws. You will have to disconnect the cable to reomove this from the cover.
    5. Remove the Gas Cap.
    6. Remove the Knob for the forward reverse and neutral lever.
    7. With care you can remove the cover without having to take the deck height lever knob off.
    8. Reverse the order to put it back together.
