This is a genuine item is supplied by the original equipment manufacturer for use with Poulan rotary lawn mowers. It is the cable that stops the blade when the control handle is released. If the cable is broken it will cause the brake to not release even when the lever is pressed. Engine stop cable broken

Removed cable from control handle and then from the engine brake, depressed the cable retainer from its bracket and removed the cable. Installed in reverse order.

Zone cable bracket broke

1. Removed old cable assembly 2. Installed new cable to mower shut off bracket 3.Reinstalled protective cover 4. Attached bracket to mower handle 5. Used Channel lock plies to fasten bracket securely
