For easy access, remove the cover on top of the mower. Use appropriate socket. Remove the cable hook attached to the top handle area first. Remove the cable attached to the engine area next. You may need to pull the cable using a needle nose plier to give you slack so you can unhook the cable. If it is carbonized like in my case, you may need to cut the wire. Remove the cable sleeve from the engine holder by pinching the plastic clip. Cut the plastic tight that holds the cable to the mower frame. Now replace with the new cable. Use your picture for reference.
