  • Better Than the Original Part
This cord is a different brand, but is better than the original. The plug and circuit breaker are separated on this cord, so the plug will fit any outdoor, water resistant outlet.

Easy replacement of original electric cord.
Brand new and an upgrade from original. Saved me from buying a new one

    Quick fix
this was an easy and inexpensive way to fix a pressure washer we use alot after the GFI on our old cord stopped functioning properly. Works like a charm now that we installed this new one.

    New power cord
Old one was fried, and was only 2 pair wire. What they sent was a 3 pair, I wired off the ground and installed it, works well.

    Wrong part
After starting to install the cord we realized its different from the original one.
    Guest - September 8, 2019 Verified Purchase
    Not really compatible part
The part as described, and as shown in repair video is a 2 wire system. The part delivered is a 3 wire system! I had to "invent" a way to meaningfully attach the green ground wire! DISAPPOINTING!

    Replacement power cord
The cord replaced an obsolete cord but did not work in the machine. It cost me more to ship and return than the cord cost. Very disappointed with the whole process. Will not use your company again.

Questions & Answers for Electrical Cord

Left my washer outside coveted in plastic for some time. Now will not start when plugged in. Is it shot
Cheryl for model number RY14122 asked on 2023-02-23
Hi Cheryl, Thank you for your question. If your electric pressure washer is not starting, there may be an issue with the water flow or an electrical issue. You should check the pressure switch, the trigger handle and the spray wand. When you plug the pressure into an electrical outlet, make sure that you are always pressing the reset button to connect to the electricity. If you have any questions, please let us know. We look forward to hearing from you!

I removed the screws from the top and bottom motor housings. I then made a wiring diagram. Then removed the old cord. I removed the grommet from the old cord and put it on the new one. I then wired the new cord in. And then replaced the screws in the motor housings. Plugged it in and it worked great.

    1. Received new cord and verified model number, no sense in taking the machine apart if its the wrong part
    2. Selected proper screwdrivers and extensions.
    3. Mapped out unscrewing sequence, top to bottom.
    4. Took top tank off, followed by second lid. Count screws, to make sure ALL are back in place.
    5. Take pictures as removing a lot of screws
    6. Got to black lower box, pictures of extension cord junction.
    7. Carefully removed old cable, has pressure rubber rings to prevent entry of water
    to enclosure.
    8. Verified with picture where each terminal was to be placed.
    9. Put all screws back in place, using picture reference.
    10. Plugged in, works just fine.

Took the old power cord off, then replaced with the new one. Very easy. If you have any mechanical and/or electrical competency, it's an easy repair. I had to screw the cover off, locate where the cord is connected internally, then detach the old cord and reattach the new one - very easy. It only took a phillips screwdriver and needle nose pliers.

By following the very clear video showing the replacement on a slightly newer model of Ryobi pressure washer, I was able to complete the repair. The rubber grommets were a pain to take off and reinstall, while reaching the plugs in the house required some serious finger gymnastics, but otherwise it went pretty well.

Took six screws out of the cover of pressure sprayer then 4 screws from top of power cover used needle nose pliers to remove black and white cord plugs then removed two screws that holds power cord in place then added new cord and replaced all the screws and plugged the pressure sprayer in to make sure the cord worked and it did the cord that came with the sprayer had a black and white and green ground wire but the one I bought only had black and white but it worked out I still need to hook up a water hose and check it out. The motor did come on when I plugged the power cord in and turned on the power but I didn't want to run it without water hooked up!

Only need a Philips screwdriver really.

    1. Take screw off housing (remove soap tank if you have it installed).
    2. Take screws off electrical housing.
    3. Pull plugs off the contacts (use pliers to save your fingers) and remember pos/neg order.
    4. Unscrew cord holder (on the backside of the housing).
    5. Remove old cord and reverse steps to install new one and put back together.

Recommend testing that it turns on before you put it back together.
You can also use a drill, but need a long bit.

YouTube video had the whole job illustrated. Ran in to some difficulty since new cord didn't include new grommets. Had to reuse old ones. Replacement cord has green ground not found on OEM unit. Left it disconnected. Ultimately got it reassembled and works perfectly.
