No tools are required to replace this part. Simply remove the old part and place the new one onto the grate rests. Please note that grills compatible with this part require three grates. 1. I removed the 3 cooking grates.
2. I removed the 3 flame tamers.
3. I installed the 3 flame tamers, fitting them into the slot in the front and resting on the frame in the back.
4. I installed the 3 new grates.

Flame tamers were rusted and corroded

Old grill grates and flame tamers were removed by hand and replaced with new parts. It actually took more time to open the new parts than it did to replace them. Fits perfectly and the first burgers of the grilling season tasted awesome!!!
