This genuine OEM sourced replacement part which is specially designed for use with Poulan hedge trimmers. The purpose of this part is to mix the air and the gas before the combustible mixture goes to the engine. If the engine won't start and the tank is full of fresh fuel, or if the engine starts and then quickly dies, the carburetor is likely the problem. Keep in mind this high-quality metal body carburetor is sold individually, please note it includes two durable composite material gaskets that will help ensure an air-tight seal.

Parts Used
Remove the air filter cover then the air filter. Remove the two nuts that hold the air filter support on and the carburetor. Remove and make notes where the fuel lines were located and throttle from the old carburetor. Remove the gasket then the carburetor and the gasket behind it. Install the new gasket, then the carburetor and the gasket in front of it. Then tighten the nuts to hold the new carburetor and the filter support. Install the fuel lines and throttle. Then replace the filter and filter cover.

Removed the old carb, fuel filter, and lines. Replaced with the new parts in about 15 minutes. The unit started right up and works like new.

Carb gummed up and could not get it flushed to a point where it would atomize fuel....

Pulled air cleaner, and extracted two nuts at top of carb...Removed fuel tank and lines then released throttle cable...Cleaned all surfaces...Set new carb and gaskets over two existing studs...Reinstalled nuts at top of studs, reattached throttle cable and air cleaner...Reset fuel tank and fuel lines to carb..Checked for leaks after I primed the carb...All good...One crank in choke mode, then started, idled and ran perfectly after second crank...Adjustments were perfect from factory...Handed off to my buddy within the hour and his shrubs were all cut by the end of the day with hedge trimmer operating perfectly...(With Non-Ethanol Fuel this time)

Removed the carb. and gas tank. Replaced the fuel filter and tubes. Replaced the carb. using the single new inner gasket. Luckily the outer gasket was in good shape.
After replacing the parts the trimmer runs great.
This trimmer was a donation to a non-profit I work with and it really helps us to control expenses getting quality and fair priced parts for such items.
