Product Description ?

This is a Genuine OEM replacement part designed to work with a variety of Engines. This part is made out of Rubber and it is Sold Individually. If the carburetor is leaking fuel it is recommended to replace the Bowl Gasket. Gaskets and O-rings are a common source of problems. They eventually shrink, causing fuel and air leaks that lead to poor engine performance.

Lawn mower was leaking gas from the carburetor bowl

First try: Tried to set the gasket in the bowl lip and reattach the bowl. Wrong.
Second try: Slightly stretch the gasket and put in place on the lip of the carburetor where the bowl attaches; then reattach the bowl. Tighten the bowl. Ooops. Too much tightening, seemed to prevent the float from dropping down far enough to let in more fuel. So loosened the bowl slightly, watching the compression on the gasket. Success!
Now that the engine runs healthy, I can invest in a new blade and some other touches.
By the way, I ordered a gasket and received a package of 8. Anybody else want a gasket?

(Side note: Initially I tried to use an O-ring from the auto store as a gasket. Fit in the bowl lip, but seemed too fat for the float; did not try fitting it on the lip of the carburetor because I was not yet that smart.)

    Snowblower

I was certain cleaning the old carb parts was all that would be required to get the snowblower to run again. After soaking old parts in carb cleaner and reassembling old parts. The snowblower wouldn’t even try to run. New jet, with new Orings, new needle valve and seat, new bowl nut and gasket were parts installed to finally get the motor to run. I’m uncertain which part was the culprit, but it runs fine now.
