Customer Repair Instructions ?
All our customer repair instructions are solicited directly from other customers just like you who have purchased and replaced this exact part.
Some of the fan blades broke while cleaning the dust from the blower wheel, causing the wheel to hit the sides of the fan housing. Excess dust buildup was caused because the flapper door was not open
Tool Type
Ventilation
Difficulty
Medium
Time
15-30 minutes
Tools Used
Screwdriver, Pliers, Dremel with cutting wheel
Parts Used
Removed ceiling grille.
Disconnected electrical plug.
Removed the "snap out" blower assembly from the mounting frame.
Removed the motor and blower assembly from the motor/blower housing
Removed and replaced blower wheel.
Reinstalled motor/blower assembly into motor/blower housing.
Reinserted housing into mounting frame.
Reconnected electrical plug
Reattached ceiling grille
Turned on electricity.
NOTE: The original installers used long wood screws to mount the frame, and the screws were protruding into the path for pulling the blower assembly out of the mounting frame. I used a dremel tool and cutting wheel to shorten the protruding end of the screws, which added an extra 15 minutes to an otherwise easy, straightforward repair.
