Bearing disintegrated

Screwdriver, Dremel

1. I removed the plastic cover to expose the drive assembly
2. I removed the fan held in by one screw
3. I loosened the connecting rod clamping screw and removed the outer part for the bearing
4. I used a dremel to cut slit along the motor axis into the remnant of the bearing. The slit freed the bear from the motor shaft.
5. Using a block of wood I hammered the new bearing onto the motor and simultaneously connecting the connecting rod to the bearing.
6. I visually aligned the bearing and connecting rod
7. I tightened the connecting rod clamp
8. I reinstalled the fan and cover.
9. I turned on the compressor and all worked fine

Bearing failed

1) pulled head off compressor
2) verified needed parts
Checked piston and cylinder for any damage
3) Ordered parts
4) prepped for reassembly
5) assembled
6) tested pressures
7) ordered new pressure switch and unloaded valve
8) finished repairs, verified pressures and auto shut-off

Bearing was toast

Bearing was toast had to cut it partly to get it off it fits tight and was stuck half cut and was able to remove it with ease the screw on the fan is a allen screw others are torx and phillips, it all went back together fine and easy

Bearing self destructed and the connecting rod failed

Removed 4 1/4 inch bolts, cleaned parts and reassembled. Parts were as specified, parts drawings were very complete.
