My existing alternator has a resistance reading of 2.253Mohms.. Trying to determine if this is correct or new alternator required. Battery gets drained immediately but starter spins flywheel until battery drained

removed engine cover , removed fan, removed flywheel, removed alternator. then replaced with new alternator. then put engine back together.
