Battery charging jack was broken and fell into the generator panel

This repair was for a Generac XP8000E portable generator
Remove instrument panel, remove battery panel and disconnect battery, remove air intake panel. Remove fuel shutoff knob by removing screw in center of knob. Loosen fuel tank and prop up with 3" block so you can access screws holding plastic weather tight panel on back of instrument panel. Remove all screws in plastic panel to access battery charging jack on battery side of generator. De-solder the charging jack or cut the wires. Install new charging jack and solder wires to new jack. The fuse for the system is also enclosed in the weather tight compartment for the instruments. Reinstall the weather tight panel, connect the battery, lower fuel tank and secure it with the screws in top of tank, reattach all panels.
