Now I had access to and removed the mower's bottom panel.
The friction wheel and mounting hub is attached to a drive shaft with a hex nut.
Remove the nut, remove the hub and wheel, then remove the 4-screws that attach the worn wheel to the hub.
Attach the new wheel to the existing shaft hub with the 4-screws and put it all back together.
While you're in there smear grease on all the gears and shaft slides before replacing the bottom panel.
