This is a trigger type VSR switch. It has 2 leads connected to its 2 terminals, a battery connector, a heat sink and an unattached forward/reverse lever. This genuine DeWalt replacement part is sold individually.
Switches are commonly replaced parts in power tools. A switch handles on/off and variable speed functions. They also have a role in electric breaking; they can momentarily reverse electrical polarity.
