Product Description ?

This is a genuine OEM sourced replacement fuel tank. It is specially designed for Murray riding lawn mowers and tractors. This assembly includes the fuel tank and the cap. Please note, the hardware to secure it and the fuel hose are not included, they are sold separately. Make sure to drain the old gas tank before starting the repair. You will need a a screwdriver and pliers to replace this fuel tank.

    Had to remove (4) small screws on the housing just above the Tank to allow room for tank removal. Remove (4) screws on tank. Lift out tank. Use pliers to remove hose from tank. Reverse process for installation.

    Leaking gasoline tank.

    1. Removed 4 screws on each side holding the housings (2) around the fuel tank.
    2. Disconnected the fuel line at the carburetor and drained the fuel tank into a gas can.
    3. Removed the 4 screws holding the fuel tank in place.
    4. Took out the fuel tank.
    5. Removed the fuel line from the bottom of the old tank.
    6. Attached the fuel line to the bottom of the new tank.
    7. Installed the new tank with the 4 screws holding it in place.
    8. Connected the fuel line to the carburetor.
    9. Put the housings back in place with the 4 screws.
    10. Put a little gas in the tank to check for leaks in the fuel line.
    11. Started the engine. Presto! Done!

    1. Drained the tank.
    2. Removed the mounting screws.
    3. Removed the fuel line.
    4. Removed the tank and replaced with new one.
    5. Reconnected and secured.

    Gas tank leaking from a crack on the bottom of the tank

    Removed 2 screws and loosen 2 screws on the top cover. Then removed 4 screws holding the tank in. Loosen and remove hose. Put everything back in reverse order. The tank was drained earlier.

    Fuel line was too short. It did not reach from gas tank to carberator.

    1. Remove the shroud (8 screws total).
    2. Remove the old gas tank and the fuel line (4 screws total).
    3. Install the fuel line on the new gas tank.
    4. Install the gas tank (recommend adding fuel filter and shut off valve).
    5. Connect the fuel line to the carburetor (clasps not included).
    6. Install the shroud.
