1. Drained old oil from crankcase (this is a 4 stroke trimmer) and replaced drain plug.
2. Removed air cleaner assembly to reveal cracked fuel lines and a deteriorated foam air filter..
3. Removed fuel tank by removing mounting screws
4. Cut old fuel lines to remove them completely, make sure you write down how they are routed
5. Replaced primer bulb by pinching the mounting tabs together - return line to tank is from the center connection
6. Replaced fuel lines - use a little engine oil on the ends to help them on the fittings. The kit provides more than enough line - so you have to trim to length. Buy both the fuel line kit and the fuel filter kit if replacing all the lines.
7. For lines that go thru the side of the fuel tank, cut fuel line on an angle to simplify insertion and coat end with a little engine oil.
8. Replace fuel filter - press on fully
9. Discovered that the crankcase breather line was also cracked. (it was under the air cleaner) Bought new hose and installed.
10. Discovered that air filter element was bad and no longer available. Bought piece of foam and cut out a new one. Coated new air filter with a little engine oil.
11. Reassembled the unit and added oil to crankcase. Started right up.
12. Discovered that the clutch was not working. Disassembled the end of the unit to reveal one broken clutch spring. Searched the web and found a replacement spring instead of having to buy an entire clutch assembly.
13. Installed spring and reassembled.
14. Started up and works like new. I hope it will last another 15 years.
