The fan guard on this Nutone screws in at the bottom of the motor. How would I attach it to a new motor.

I'm guessing my stove vent fan to be as old as the home, 70 years old. I cleaned it and it made an annoying rattling noise that did not go away.

I was grateful to find the motor was still available despite no longer made. It seemed like a lot of money at first, until I figured the last motor lasted 70 years! I popped out the vent fan unit, unscrewed the fan from the old motor, unscrewed the old motor from the wall connector, screwed fan on new motor, bolted new motor to wall connector and popped it back in. Easy peasy. Works tremendously well! I am by no means a handy man and I accomplished this task in less than a half an hour. So thankful everything fit perfectly and that the company still had the motor available for replacement.
