Repair was easier than first conceived, part was exactly what I needed
The part was sort of the drive shaft of my string trimmer. It fit just like it was supposed to. The wait for the part wasn't too bad. Look at the part in the accompanying photo. The weight has to be ounces so the only gripe I have is the outrageous shipping charge of well over $20.

Disassembly is pretty easy, just some Phillips screws, a push button release, and a clamp, and the shaft just pulls out easy. There are a couple of helpful videos on YouTube to walk you through it, although I didn't need to do everything the video said to do, as far as disassembling the string head completely apart, not necessary for my particular model which is a Troybilt. Over all, it was just as easy as the upper flexible drive I did a few years ago on the same trimmer.

Followed the directions on the video on your site for how to repair this. The only difficulty I had was getting the retainer ring off. It would not budge, so I had to take a hand saw and cut the plastic spool cover in two and then cut the retainer ring in two. I had replacement parts, but it was a battle to get to that stage. Once I got that off, I could replace the lower drive shaft and complete the repair as per the video.
