    Easy fix. Had the same component crack due to its plasticity about 5 years ago. The part sent had a slight variation of an extra nib at the point of the elbow that I had file down about 1/4 inch so it would pass through hole. Only difficult part was assembling housing to motor ring. Had to use Emory cloth to remove a slight buildup of rust on ring. Applied light coating of white grease so motor and ring slid into housing assembly. Three or four screws held motor and housing in place. About five screws held base plate in place. Used shop air to blow dust from motor area when base plate was removed.

    Broken fan housing at handle base

    1. Removed the vacuum base.
    2. Removed the belt.
    3. Removed the fan motor and the housing.
    4. Replaced the fan housing.
    5. Reinstalled the motor, the belt, and the vacuum base.

    1. Removed bottom of vacuum.
    2. Remove screws holding motor and fan housing.
    3. Replace with new parts and reassemble.
    * Remove old felt seal before using new one.

    My Grandson did the work, he simply took it apart and replaced the cracked housing with the new one fairly simple fix actually. Was so pleased eReplacement had the part in stock, saved me from buying a new vacuum!!
