Replacing the chuck screw was easy the second time around since by then knew that it was a reverse tread screw .
This information was omitted in the original instructions. As a result I stripped the screw head.
Luckily I was able to remove the old screw with an impact driver once I knew it was reverse thread.
The video for replacing the gearbox is much better than the written instructions.
Also the case screws are Torx head screws, not allen head.

Unscrewed chuck with large channel lock pliers Hammered out stuck bit with a drift, then hammered out broken screw head with drift. The shaft of the chuck screw was in the the drill with lock tight on it. I used a dremel rotery tool with a small cut off wheel, cut a slot in the top of the broken screw, then took it out with a flat blade screw driver. Put chuck on and installed new chuck screw.

Milwaukee 12V drill chuck didn't latch well and loosened when it rubbed something while drilling

    Medium

    Tools Used

Screwdriver, Adjustable Wrench, WD-40, allen wrench, vise

    1. Unscrewed bolt holding chuck. This is a tight Left Hand bolt so getting it off if you don't know that won't work.
    2. Used WD-40 to help loosen bolt.
    3. With drill in vise I clamped a long 5/16" allen wrench in chuck and turned it off the drill(RH thread)
    4. Installing the new chuck was an easy thread on process, just be sure both chuck and locking screw are tight.

Power Drill, Hammer and large Allen wrench.

Remove old chuck and replace it with new chuck. First I remove screw inside the base of chuck turning clockwise. Then I inserted large allen wrench in the chuck, while holding it tight with drill, then gave a sharp tap clockwise with hammer it comes right off. Reverse the process to replace new chuck. One must exercise for this repair.
