One of the pot-metal brackets on my outdoor Hunter fan broke and the parts were discontinued

In order to get the broken bracket off, I had to take off the ring that held up the fan light as well as the ring that covered the fan blade brackets. Those things were easy but getting the bracket itself off, by myself, was a challenge because the fan blades turned when I was trying to use both hands on the screw driver to unscrew the bracket. Next, I tried to hold the blades steady with one hand and use only one hand to try to unscrew the 3 screws that held the bracket. Since the screws were in very tightly I couldn't loosen them, using one hand, even after spraying them twice with penetrating oil. I then tried hitting the screws with a hammer and and then put my head in between two fan blades to keep the blades from turning. With the fan blades not going around, I was able to use both hands on the screwdriver and the screws finally gave way.

The installation of the new bracket only took about half an hour, using what I'd learned, as described above, in reverse.

Thank you so much for stocking discontinued parts! Until I found your website, I was about ready to get rid of the entire fan!

One of the existing blade irons was broken while the fan was being dusted.

The new blade irons were similar to the existing ones but not exactly the same. The general appearance was spot on but the blade mounting holes were different. All of the irons had to be replaced because the new part was not an exact match. The attachment holes at the fan motor were correct but the blade mounting holes were the issue.
I used a piece of paper and a pencil to make a rubbing of the blade mounting holes on the new irons. I then transferred that pattern to a cardboard template. I removed the grommets from the three original mounting holes in the blades; the center hole was a common hole between the two iron designs. I used my template to layout the two needed mounting holes and then drilled them to the proper size. (The new irons covered holes that were no longer being used.)
I reinstalled the grommets in the blades, assembled the irons to the blades and then the irons to the fan.
