  • After taking tool apart and disassembling motor, found that the bearings did not fit.
    The part was too small.

The 1/8" key in the jack shaft assembly sheared in half, allowing the motor to spin freely while the blade wouldn't spin.

Fist remove the nut, blade, and washers. Next remove the four screws holding the motor case to the blade guard. Once this has been done you should be able to remove the motor from the rest of the saw. Now remove the two screws holding the jack shaft assembly to the motor, insert new jack shaft assembly and you should be good to go. If you are replacing the bearings on the armature as well, you will need to remove the brushes first then pull out the Armature and remove the bearings once the armature is out of the motor. You will also want to put the new bearings on before putting the Armature back in the motor case. At this point you would then put the jack shaft back in place and proceed to re assemble the unit.
