2. You will have to move the pump away in order to access the transmission. To do this you will have to remove 2 hoses and then pull the pump just to be able to access the transmission.
3. Disconnect the 2 cables from the transmission motor. Make sure you take photos to run the cables properly. You might have to cut the zip ties in order to free the cables.
4. The transmission has only one screw, located from the front of the machine. You have to remove the difusor to access it. Remove the screw.
5. Pull the transmission out. It will come easily if you cleared space.

In general my Magnifica Espresso Machine has 15 years and it is perfect, if you do regular cleaning, lubricating. I'm impressed how easy is to de-assemble it. Most of the screws are the same to make it easier. I already replace several parts, always bought at the ereplacementpards.com.
