Tools Used

Pliers, Socket set, Adjustable Wrench, 14mm Mini Cooper Spark Plug Socket ; drill bits

No need to shut off water for shower diverter; it only redirects the water; just made sure hot and cold were closed. Removed handle; used 14mm mini cooper spark plug socket (250mm long 3/8" drive) to remove the valve (recessed and cannot use normal shower sockets). I used Channel Lock 718 pliers to remove broken part of valve that was wedged in seat (transfer valve seal kit). I had to drill out old adapter as it was wedged in handle shaft. This was a pain in the neck and took most of the time as I didn't have an extra handle. I used various bits to bore out the adapter.it eventually came out of the shaft. Saved me around 150 USD in labor doing as DIY.
