  • Good fit in the bracket and it works well.
The Thermometer arrived in great condition. Due to design changes I did had to drill a large entry hole in the Weber Hood. But that ws easily accomplished.

    Exact replacement part.
Because this is an exact replacement part, no modifications were needed and assembly was a breeze. Because the original had a tendency to get moisture inside and cause it to malfunction , I expect the life expectancy to be about the same. Three years. At least I know where to get another one.

Grill was left on high for 10 - 15 minutes to cook off accumulated grease by apparently that pegged the thermo past 600 and it stopped working.

, Wing nut turned by hand. No tool needed.

Remove wing nut behind thermometer. Mine was just hand tight but use a pry or pliers if necessary.
Remove thermometer and reuse its bezel, placing new thermometer inside original bezel.
insert new thermometer/bezel assembly into hole in grill lid. Align the dial so markings are level with horizon.
Place wingnut on the threaded portion of assembly and hand tighten. No need to overtighten.
A snug fit will allow for heat expansion and cool-down contraction.

Per Weber’s included instructions, I just removed the old ignitor module - no tools needed - and replaced it with the new one - no tools needed. I removed the ignitor that’s in the gas burner that starts the charcoal and replaced it with the new ignitor lead. Pliers were necessary because of corrosion. I removed the ground lead from the burner (Phillips head #1 screwdriver) and replaced the ground lead and its screw that affixes the ground to the burner. Then just plug the ends of the leads into the correct terminals on the ignitor module. And you’re done!

The thermometer replacement required the pliers to break loose the wing nut (inside) that secures the thermometer to the lid. A new wing nut is supplied with the new thermometer.
