Remove lens
Remove bulb
Remove flat head screw under bulb
Unplug bulb socket/grill sub assembly
Loosen 4 screws holding blower sub assembly
Unplug sub assembly and remove
Remove fan leads from connections
Remove 4 screws holding fan mounting plate & remove fan assembly
Loosen set screw holding cage fan & remove fan
Remove two nuts holding motor to mounting plate
Reassemble in reverse order
Replaced motor for Nutone 9605-N on heater side of vent/heater combo unit.

Removed four screws holding motor and unplugged unit.
Reversed steps to install new motor. The unit now functions as good as new.

Backed out two screws and lowered the appliance which included a motor that pulled humid air out of the bath and another motor that operated a fan that functioned to blow heat generated from 4 wire coils.
The wiring harness also ran power to a light bulb connected to the platform that carried
Cleaned 35 years of dust off of the air intake motor.
Disconnected 3 wires to the heater motor purchased from eplacementparts.
Using wire caps I reconnected the new motor
Reinstalled the metal platform with both motors, heating coils and fans and light
Replaced the covering grill with the two screws backed out when removed.

I have never worked on a bath vent/heat unit before.
They were not working when I bought this house. All went well.
I pulled both sides out (only 3 screws holding each one).
