1. UNPLUG THE MACHINE FROM THE POWER SOURCE!
2. Remove 4 Phillips screws holding the power switch and speed control assembly.
3. Remove the assembly and disconnect the power connections from the power switch taking note of the wire connection locations for reassembly.
4. Disconnect the motor wires from the speed control circuit board taking note of the wire connection locations for reassembly.
5. Remove 2 Phillips screws holding the circuit board and remove the board.
6. Replace the board and reassemble the unit following the previous steps in reverse order.
7. Reconnect the power and turn the unit on. Check the rotation direction of the motor. If it is running backwards, switch the motor connections on the circuit board around.

I removed the control board and the speed adjusting switch set. I replaced them with new parts from eReplacements and I also replaced the waterproof switch. After this the machine powered right up and back to sharpening and polishing again.

Sharpener stopped working, speed control circuit board bad

1. Removed 4 screws holding speed control - on/off switch face plate to power box
2. Disconnected power wires from on/off switch & removed wires from old circuit board after removing it from the power box, popped existing on/off switch out of face plate
3. Assembled new speed control to face plate, adhered new label & secured new knob with allen screw (allen screw is extremely tiny, be careful not to drop it)
4. Removed existing wires from old circuit board & installed on new circuit board
5. Screwed new circuit board in place inside power box
6. Snapped existing on/off switch into new face plate & re-connected power wires
7. Re-installed speed control - on/off switch face plate to power box
8. Plugged in power cord & tested sharpener to run properly & confirm correct direction of wet stone rotation
