My saw is always stored in the bag that came with it. The saw had been dropped at some time bending the front of the shoe as the bag provides no protection to the shoe.

All I had to do was loosen the wheel that adjusts the angle of the shoe for a miter cut until the shoe was loosened to the point that the looking screw was now free of the saw. Then I was able to remove the locking screw from the body of the saw. This frees the locking plate to be removed as well as the shoe itself. Put the new shoe in place and reassemble. On the top of the locking screw assembly is a stamped arrow, before loosening the screw observe it’s pointed direction and orient it the same direction upon reassembly.
