    1. Removed the black rubber piece at back of the drill which provided access to one of the screws. I used a small screwdriver to pry the black rubber piece loose.
2 Removed all the screws from the side of the drill and from the front.
    3. Separated the red parts of the drill then the black front of the drill removing the armature from the field.
    4. Removed the wires from the field then removed and replaced the field.
    5. Installed the front black portion of the drill, installing the armature in the field.
    6. Installed all screws in the red part of the drill and tightened them.
    7. Separated the two front black portions and pulled clip from the shift lever.
    8. Removed cracked shift lever and installed new one, reinstalling the clip.
    9. Installed the black portion back on the drill but it wouldn't go all the way back on. I checked and found a pin on one of the gears had fallen out. I reinstalled it and while holding the front black portion up (with drill chuck down) and then installing the drill onto the front black portion. This prevented the pin from falling out again.
    10. Installed the screws on front of the drill and tightened.
The drill now has all the power it had originally and the shift lever dose not fall out anymore.
