Retainer
This retainer is slightly larger than the original part, it had to remove some of it with a grinder. Being slightly larger, it would not let the threads fit the bolt that holds the reel handle on reach the threads. Not a deal breaker for the price, minor inconvenience.

For an Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 7001i HSN Big Game reel. A rare reel I found on eBay wouldn't go into free spool mode properly. Upon dis-assembly I noticed a tiny spring not attached to anything. (Part# 1116145) It attaches to the same part on the lever/arm as the lever type spring and through research learned it's a common problem as the spring will pop off. I inserted the new spring under the lever type spring so it can't come off. To re-assemble it's easier to remove the free spool lever for assembly as the lever type spring must be attached to the base plate before everything comes together. It now works perfectly, going in and out of gear as it should. This reel design is unique as to put it in free spool you move the lever back but to put it in gear there are two ways, moving the lever forward or by turning the handle. Glad you had the part for this rare reel!
