    Great service and parts availability
E-Replacement Parts has always provided great service and the parts I need. In the years I have purchased from them, they have always had the parts I couldn't find anywhere else. If you need it they will have it. The pressure switch I purchased is not available from Sears anymore and they had it.

Questions & Answers for Prs Switch

My compressor after I turn it on starts but blows circut breaker 20 amp
David for model number 919.165010 asked on 2023-03-20
Hello David, Thank you for your inquiry. There are two reasons an air compressor can trip a breaker, electrical and mechanical. Several factors can cause your compressor to pull too much power, so first make sure that that amp rating on the compressor does not exceed the amperage the outlet can handle. Check the safety valve, piston kit with o-rings, the fan and filter kit, and check valve for any visible damage. Good luck with your repair.

Looking for the compressor itself. Model 921.16474s. Do you know where to get one. Mine is seized.
    Ben asked on 2022-02-08
Hello Ben, Thank you for writing. We suggest contacting Craftsman, as we are just an online parts provider. We do not sell the full unit. We hope this helps!

Compressor was leaking air from the unloader valve.

I made this repair more complicated than it probable needed to be. Apparently air coming out of the unloader valve when the compressor is pressuring up isn't usually a sign of a faulty unloader valve. It's usually an indication of a bad check valve. It's an old compressor so I ended up ordering a check valve and complete pressure switch. Pretty straight forward repair.
    1. Remove all lines attached to the check valve and pressure switch.
    2. Remove check valve and replace with new.
    3. Remove the plastic housing from the pressure switch and unwire it. Don't break any wire terminals like I did. Remove gauge and fittings and set aside for use on new switch. Unscrew stripped pressure switch.
    4. Install fittings but not the gauge on new pressure switch. Thread pressure switch tightly into fitting coming out of the tank.
    5. Reconnect all lines to the new check valve and new pressure switch. Push the end of the aluminum unloader tube into the unloader valve tightly then thread the other end into the check valve.
    6. Install gauge into new pressure switch.
    7. Reconnect wires to the appropriate terminals in the new pressure switch. Replace black plastic housing.
    8. Check to make sure it works and nothing leaks.

    at tank end of installation.
9 Applied silicone tape to threaded fittings where necessary to prevent air leaks.
    10. Transferred air line fittings from old pressure switch to new switch.
    11. Applied lubricant to threads of fittings and hoses prior to installation.
    12. Installed pressure switch, air lines/hoses and last the electrical wires for the power source, motor connections and pressure switch cover.

I removed the old switch, cleaned all the components and thread taped all the connections, and reconnected the new switch.
(My Sears compressor has a proprietary pressure cut-off attachment, so I couldn't use a knock-off brand. In the end, although 4 times as expensive, the repair came out just fine.)
