Does this fit my product?Questions & Answers for Pivot Tube Set
To lube or not to lube the new pivot tube set before installing on the crank arm shaft? If lube, then what works best? 3-1 Dry Lube? Household oil? Standard grease? I just notice that the new pivot tube assembly I just installed doesn't spin freely on the crank arm shaft. Is there supposed to be a smidge of resistance?

Hello Doug, Thank you for your inquiry. Any type of white lithium grease will work on an elliptical. The bearings should spin freely with the crank installed too. The cranks should not experience a lot of extra force when you get the spindle to the far side bearing. We hope this helps you.

This repair is straightforward: remove the side panel, remove the broken pivot tube, replace with new pivot tube, reinstall side panel. But there are a few keys. To remove the pivot tube from the shaft, you have to remove a spring clip. The correct spring clip pliers make a huge difference. I struggled a little until I changed the pin attachments to the correct size on the pliers and then it came off and went back on easily. Also, note that the welded-on bolt attachment on the pivot tube is not centered. Look at the other one first to make sure you have it installed correctly (longer side on first). Finally, this replacement part has a brass (?) bushing that rides on the shaft instead of the original roller bearings. Time will tell how well a solid bushing does. It feels no different when running the machine for a minute.
