Because this part get so much abuse it has a tendency to crack and fall apart.If you see and parts of this bumper falling from your nail gun, it is definitely time to replace it. I took 4 bolts from the top and removed the head after that I'd removed the Piston and the cylinder after that I'd removed the Piston bumper and replace it for the new one
