Product Description

?

This is a genuine replacement belt sourced directly from the original manufacturer, designed for use with riding lawn tractors and mowers. Made from durable rubber and sold individually, this belt is responsible for driving the mower blades, making it a critical component for cutting performance. To ensure optimal function and longevity, it’s important to clean the pulleys before installing the new belt and to inspect the belt regularly for signs of wear or stretching. Replacing the belt requires a wrench set and pliers. For safety, always disconnect the spark plug wire before beginning. Start by lowering the mower deck to its lowest position and setting the blade engagement lever to the "Off" position. Roll the old belt off the engine pulley from between the belt guide and pulley. Remove the mower deck by taking out the bow-tie pins securing the left and right lift arms, then disconnect the blade engagement cable. Next, remove the bolts from the mower deck belt pulley covers and take off the covers. Loosen, but do not remove, the nuts on the top of the idler pulleys. Install the new mower deck belt through the belt guides and around the pulleys, then tighten the idler pulley nuts. Finally, reassemble the deck to complete the repair and restore your mower’s cutting performance. Lawn mower deck belt. Width: 1/2 " Length: 95 1/2 ".

Spindle and Idlers on mower deck needed replacement.

Michael from Grand Rivers, Kentucky

2 of 2 people found this instruction helpful.
Difficulty Level:
Easy
Total Repair Time:
30 - 60 mins
Tools:
Pliers, Screw drivers, Socket set, Wrench set
Remove old spindle and idlers with wrenches and socket set. Screws that secure spindle are self tapping, so take your time and make sure the new bolts cut a good thread in the spindle assembly. Secure the spindle with the four bolts, reattach the blade and tighten the bolt holding the blade to the spindle ( I used an impact wrench on the lowest torque setting). Reattach the new idlers proper side up (best to use your phone to take a picture of the whole deck before you disassemble anything) and any assembly you are not familiar with to make sure you get it right. Put the new belt on, reattach the deck to the mower and get to mowing grass! Online pictures of older mowers showing the entire assembly are hard to find. Take your time, take pictures, and do one thing at a time, don\'t tear the whole thing apart all at once. Use new 5/32 cotter pins (about 6-8) to finish it up right. Good Luck Mike

Remove belt, drop deck and remove, remove pulley, remove four bolts, mandrel assembly will come right out. Reverse procedure to replace with new parts. I had to Google the owners manual to find the belt diagram as my belt had broken and I couldn\'t read the diagram on the deck. It took a bit more than 30 minutes total.
