This pad assembly, also known as a hook and loop sanding pad or sanding disc, is sourced from the original manufacturer for use with sanders. It is a circular component, with 8 holes, a diameter of 4.75 inches, and a Velcro backing on one side. It is attached to the base of the sander, where it is responsible for holding the sandpaper securely in place during use. It allows for efficient movement and surface smoothing. Over time, it is normal for the Velcro to wear down from usage, and the pad may become stripped or cracked, resulting in difficulties gripping the sandpaper, uneven sanding, and reduced power output. Replacing the pad assembly is a simple repair that does not require any specialized tools. It is recommended to replace the retaining screws at the same time if they are stripped or corroded. Use a screwdriver to undo the screws holding the old pad to the sander and pull it off. Align the new pad assembly with the mounting holes and install the screws to hold it in place.

Removed pad & belt from sander.
Cleaned underside of sander & parts that belt went around. Placed new belt around where old belt had been removed from. Placed new pad and tightened torx screws. DONE!
Old parts came off. New parts went back on... simple!
