An inexpensive repair save me a lot of money.
This saved me the cost of buying a new vacuum. A minor detail about the switch. The wire connectors on the old switch were angled to the side. On the new switch, the wire connectors extended straight down (like the picture shows). I used a pliers to bend the connectors so they pointed to the side and that allowed the switch to fit correctly.

Switch for a canister vac dirt devil vacuum
I had a Dirt Devil vacuum about 4 months old that died. Really, the on/off switch was "fried". A friend of mine took it apart and found the problem. I purchased this switch not knowing if the prongs could be bent to fit the space. Well they did bend and the vacuum is back doing it's job. I'm very happy with this replacement. The part arrived in perfect condition.

Easy Fix
The switch was received on time and in good condition. All I had to do was adjust the direction the electrical connectors pointed. Then it was just slide the switch in place and connect the two wires.
