    Muffer crack off from cylinder head, don't know why the engine isn't that old.

    It was easy to get to the muffler on this engine. Remove the screws from the bracket holding the muffler, replace old with new. This was wood chipper.I think this muffler had a weak area and the vibration from the engine cause it to fail.

    1. removed heat shield, broken bracket (easy home repair with 2 sheet metal screws.)
    2. removed broken muffler from shield.
    3. installed new parts. reassembled onto engine.
