This genuine OEM supplied part is specially designed for Ryobi wheeled trimmers. Mow ball assembly prevents the trimmer from scalping the grass. Over time it may wear out or get damaged eventually requiring a replacement. It is made from high-quality material and is sold individually. Refer to the appropriate diagrams for your model to ensure the proper repair procedure. A screwdriver will be needed to replace this mow ball. Note, the hardware to secure it is sold separately.

    Bottom half of mower ball had worn off.

    1. Removed bolt holding worn mower ball on trimmer.
    2. Replaced mower ball with new one using new bolt. The old bolt was still serviceable but I used the new one.

    String broke off in string head, not able to remove

    Removed the mower ball and string head and replaced it with the new one. I saw a reply that it is a left handed thread and after we knew that it was easy to repair

    Removed the worn and old parts
    Installed the flanged washer
    Screwed on the adapter
    Install the cutterhead and the mow ball with the bolt

    Plastic Mow Ball wore out. Started breaking apart.

    1. Put small screwdriver in Mow head to lock head from moving. Use channellock pliers to rotate mounting bolt off. NOTE: bolt has LEFT hand threads.
    2. Place bolt in new ball and thread it back on to the head.

    Primer bulb leaking, mower ball worn out

    Remove the screws from the primer cover, then remove old bulb and replace it with the new bulb and screw the cover back on. Then remove the bolt from the mow ball. ( The bolt is LH thread). Then remove the worn mow ball and bolt on the new one.
