Hoover rug scrubber motor was bad. It made a grinding noise and needed replaced.

You need to disassemble the rug scrubber motor housing. There are many screws and you have to hunt for a couple of them. Some are not very conspicuous. Care must be taken to not break any of the plastic parts. A good rule of thumb is never force anything. Once you get into the motor housing it's easy to replace it with the new one. The only difficulty I had was the new motor had plastic insulators around the push on tab connector and it didn't fit onto the existing scrubber connectors because of it. All I did was cut into the plastic insulator to allow it to mate with the existing connector and it worked very well. I did not have to remove the insulator entirely. It's a little tricky putting back the motor into the housing but once I got it in the rest of the repair process was easy. I plugged it in and it worked beautifully. CAUTION: Before you remove the bad motor from the housing examine how it's positioned. If you don't position the new motor the same way the cover will not fit right.
