Exact replacement...same plastic as the original part.
Yes the part fits perfectly and I had no issue disassembling the old black plastic motor housing with the replacement silver colored housing. The old silver housing used on previous models does fit and replace the new black housing of the Lithium models. So why 4 stars? Because the part is exactly the same as the original (except the old one was black and the new one silver) which means, the one I just replaced will be broken in a year or so too. :o( Look at it this way, if I knew that these plastic housings "burn out" over a fairly short usage time (20 hours a year..maybe?) , would I have bought this B&D Model in the first place? Probably not. So due to the quality, of the or lack of it in the replacements part I gave it a 4 star. As someone had described, the metal bearings are pressed into a plastic races molded into the motor housing which is cheap and as we know...the plastic race can't the heat or movement against a metal bearing. This isn't eReplacement parts issue in any way...it's a B&D's issue. Call it planned obsolescence? I AM happy that these replacement parts are priced fairly cheaply, because if they were more expensive I probably would have trashed the whole unit.

Long grass had wrapped around the gear assembly shaft, got hot and melted the motor housing bearing holder. With no solid support the gear assembly misaligned and the metal motor gear shaved off much

The gear assembly bearing is a press fit into the motor housing. I had to place the bearing as far into the motor housing bearing holder as it would go, then screw the two halves of the motor housing together. This pushed the gear fully into the bearing holder.
