The repair was on a circular saw used for metal cutting. As a result of a project that required cutting over 20' of 1/4" thick mild steel plate the circuit board that regulates and modulates voltage

1. Removed the screws that hold the two halves of the outer case together.
2. Split the case and accessed the circuit board that failed.
3. Verified the failure. It was evident by the black soot around of the two transistors along with the hole that was left in the transistor case where the failure occurred.
4. Verified the Model and serial number of the saw, and got on eReplacemntParts web site which allowed me to access the manufacturers parts list and exploded picture for this saw.
5. The information supplied allowed me to order the replacement part required for the repair.
6. Once the part arrived,(which by the way was quite quickly) the repair was a simple remove the damaged piece and replace it with the new one.
7. With the repair made the two case halves were rejoined and the screws replaced.
8. A freshly charged battery was installed in the saw and it performed like new.
A simple fix that cost considerably less than a new saw with a minimal of time required to due the repair. A win win in my book.
