This is a locate block for various models of band saws that forms part of the blade tension lever assembly. This is a small block made of metal that fits over a pin on the blade tension lever assembly and helps to locate or keep it all in place, and prevents it from becoming misaligned, which can lead to the blade vibrating or wandering. If you notice the blade tension is uneven, difficult to adjust or is vibrating excessively, it is worth inspecting the locate block and potentially replacing it. To replace this block, disconnect power to the band saw and open the blade guard. Now locate the blade tension lever assembly on the right side of the band saw near the upper wheel. Remove the old locate block by using a pair of pliers to remove the securing pin and install the new block with the existing pin once the hole in the locate block is aligned with the blade tension lever assembly and tighten to secure it. You can now close the blade guard and power the band saw on to test it.
