Shield was originally installed wrong, causing the blades to chew into the shield and lock up the machine.

Adjustable Wrench, Allen or hex wrenches.

Removed the covers, removed the drive mechanism, removed the bent shield by splitting the machine enough to release the shield. Removed the damaged drive roller and attaching springs and then replaced each part in the opposite order of removal.

Held off with replacing the blades while I practiced with the machine to be sure that everything was working properly so that the new blades would not be damaged. The machine now works great, so I will replace the damaged blades to improve the surface of the wood. As the original blades were damaged by impacting the shield. They had nicks in the,.
