This is an OEM sourced replacement part which is specially designed for use with DeWALT and Black and Decker drills. It allows user to secure drill bits. The ratcheting action clicks the jaws tightly into place for reduced bit slippage. If your drill's bit retention is suffering, the rotation feels stiff, or the chuck has seized up entirely, a new chuck should fix the problem. NOTE: This 3/8" capacity chuck mounts to the drill using a 1/2"-20 threaded spindle. The light-weight plastic design provides comfort while the keyless two-sleeve construction adds the efficiency and ease-of-use of keyless bit-swapping.
