Product Description ?

This is an OEM sourced replacement part, it is specially produced for use with Dewalt drill-drivers. It is the component which allows a user to secure a drill bit. The ratcheting action clicks the jaws tightly into place for reduced bit slippage. If your drill's bit retention is suffering, the rotation feels stiff, or the chuck has seized up entirely, a new chuck should fix the problem. The major benefit of a keyless chuck is that it can be loosened and tightened with only your hands, no need for special tools. Please note this high-quality component is sold individually.

Being this was a right angle drill. The gearing prevents the head from turning easily. So I took water pump pliers and grabbed the tapered end of the chuck and just unscrewed it. Then installed new chuck by hand.
